EAS Myoplex Strength Nutrition Shake

Over the last few years, high profile brands such as EAS, OneSource, Gatorade, and Cytosport, have come out with recovery and regeneration products to assist athletes refuel and rebuild after high intensity training. It has become obvious, that the limiting factor in high level training programs, is proper recovery techniques that allow athletes the benefit to recover on a daily basis. Recovery can be achieved through different modalities and techniques, but the most critical is proper nutrition. We see this with the athletes we work with on a daily basis. As a coach responsible to the health and well being of high school athletes, I have to find products that allow us to provide our athletes quality nutrition with high performance benefits.

Our first priority is to teach our athletes the basics of proper nutrition. We all understand that most young athletes will not take the time to prepare their meals the night before to have some balance in their daily meal servings at school.  When this happens its always important to have some type of alternative ready for them when they train or after their workout session. If we’re to help our athletes recover properly, nutrition has to be our number one priority. This leads me to why I wrote this post today.

EAS has brought to market the Myoplex Strength Nutrition Shake. It was developed by the sports nutritionist at Abbott, to offer high performance nutrition designed to deliver high-quality protein, carbohydrates, vitamin and minerals. It can be taken before or after workouts to help athletes refuel and rebuild lean muscle.

I will be testing it with our athletes this winter as we push weights, pull the sleds, and build power and explosiveness. I’ll keep you posted on what I think and how it’s helping our guys recover and increase lean muscle mass. Stay tuned.
